Irene M Puzyr

Irene entered into eternal rest on September 3, 2017 after a brave battle with cancer. She was 84. Irene died peacefully at her home built by her husband Albert Puzyr, where they lived for 50+ years. She was born and raised in Newark, NJ and married in 1952. Shortly after, they moved to Bridgewater, NJ. Irene will be remembered for her never ending love and devotion to her family, passion of her Ukrainian heritage encompassing years of folk dancing, food and song. Her love for learning ranged from studying piano from an early age, continuing her education through college courses, researching at the Clarence Dillon Library where she worked for over 20 years, keeping abreast of alternative medicine and taking her seamstress skills to a higher level with classes at the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC. She was an advocate for alternative medicine, a Nikken representative and a member of the NJ Association of Library Assistants. Irene was predeceased by her husband Albert in 2010. She is survived by her son Andrew, his wife Kathy and their two children Alex and Larisa, and also by her daughter Audrey and her husband Michael Spies and their two sons Gregory and Tyler. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, always supporting family activities by attending recitals, concerts, sporting and special events. Her greatest love was for her children and their families, their development and to never stop learning.
