Jaime Robert Huntley passed away on October 8th, 2022, at the age of 42, in his home after spending days surrounded by those he loved and cherished. He was born in Brooklyn, New York, and was the oldest of five siblings. His parents were Ann Marie Huntley nee Haynes & Eon Godfrey Huntley.
As a child, he was joyous, full of laughter, and loved Sesame Street, Mr. Rogers, and He-Man. He attended St. Claire Catholic Church, where he completed his first holy communion. At the age of 8, he and his family moved to Georgia, where he attended Miller Grove Middle School. He graduated from Redan High School in 1998. He matriculated into St. John’s University in Queens, New York, where he majored in Communications. This love of media and communications was forever a part of his life that brought him joy. After completing his Bachelor of Arts in 2002, he earned his Juris Doctor degree from Touro University Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center, where he served as the President of the Black Law Student’s Association.
Robert met the love of his life Tracy, while they both worked at JP Morgan Chase in 2001. After six years of courtship, Robert proposed in 2007, and the two were married in Houston, TX, in 2009. They were married for 13 years, and their union bore three children Blake Robert Huntley, Nicholas Avery Huntley, and Olivia Tracy Huntley.
Robert moved to Houston, Texas, in 2006, where he showcased his intelligence and drive, passing the Texas State Bar in 2007. He continuously practiced law in Houston, including starting his independent law practice. He and Tracy decided to move closer to family in the northeast in 2016, settling in New Jersey.
Robert loved traveling, culinary exploring, the NY Giants, the Knicks, and the Olympic Games. He also loved radio, media, and communications - to that end, he was a DJ at St. John’s during college. He also enjoyed good music, and many will remember when he expressed his creative side by writing rap lyrics when he was young. Robert loved reality TV, including The Amazing Race, and had dreams of producing a reality show one day. But that all paled compared to what he loved most - spending time with his children, including regular summer trips to Disney World. Robert also had a passion for city planning. This came full circle in his career as he worked at NYCHA in the real estate and development department, helping with affordable housing projects.
Robert is survived by his wife, Tracy Huntley nee Butler. His children Blake Robert Huntley, Nicholas Avery Huntley, and Olivia Tracy Huntley. His parents Ann Marie and Eon G. Huntley. His four siblings, Eon T. (Rebecca) Huntley, Tamara Isadora Huntley, Barrington Mikhail Huntley, Johnathon Eon Huntley, and his grandmother G. Isadora Haynes. His mother and father-in-law, Midza and Jean-Claude Butler, three sisters-in-law, Natasha, Tiffany, and Melissa, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends. Robert is preceded in death by his grandfather Morris Roy Haynes and cousins Esther & Davin. As a son, husband, father, family member, and friend, he will be truly missed.
