Jean Filipek

Jean Filipek, 89 of Manahawkin, formerly of Belleville, entered into eternal rest on April 23, 2022 at Care One, Parsippany. Born December 30, 1932 in Newark to the late Harry Lang & Stella Lubanski, she lived in Belleville most of her life before permanently moving to Manahawkin over 20 years ago. Early on in life she was employed on the assembly line for RCA, one of her tasks was to place the filament in the light bulb. Most of her adult life was spent lovingly raising her family and later taking care of her grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also an avid reader and crocheter. She is preceded in death by her husband, Theodore (September 2021) and siblings, Dorothy Stein & Richard Lang. She is the cherished mother of Ronald Filipek, Dr. Richard Filipek & his wife Dottie, Sharon Filipek, Jim Filipek & his wife Chris & Lori Rowe & her husband, Kenny. She was also the proud and loving grandmother of Captain Erik Filipek (US Army) & his wife Caley, Matthew Filipek & Trevor Rowe and great-granddaughters; Allison & Kayla Filipek. She is also survived by her siblings, Barbara DePaul, Walter & Larry Lang. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. & 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Levandoski-Grillo Funeral Home, 44 Bay Avenue, Bloomfield, NJ. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend the Funeral on Wednesday morning, gathering at the Funeral Home at 9:00 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Church, 155 William Street, Belleville, NJ. Mausoleum Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org
