Joan J Ashworth

Joan J. Ashworth (nee: Kalinoski), 85 of Bloomfield, entered into eternal rest on January 3, 2022, at Mountainside Medical Center, Glen Ridge. Born January 29, 1936, in Bloomfield, she was a lifelong resident. A graduate of Bloomfield HS, she married her love William R. (Bill) in 1957 at Sacred Heart Church. She worked for a time at Newark Wire Cloth followed by Bloomfield College. She was active in the PTA at Watsessing School and with the local Girl Scouts Troop. In the Mid 1970’s Joan and Bill started an appliance business in Bloomfield, Major Appliance Sales and Service. They owned and operated the business until 1994. In her leisure, Joan enjoyed her craft room where she could be found quilting and sewing, she loved her back yard and enjoyed gardening and just sitting on the deck admiring her work. Joan is predeceased by her husband Bill (1994). Surviving to cherish her memory are her children; Jill Vamvourellis (Peter), Judy Trabucco (Carmine), Barbara Firestone (Michael), Carol Burtis (Kent), Nancy Gryder (Jonas) & Susan McManimon (Patrick), her grandchildren; Joseph Trabucco, Nicholas Firestone, Eric & David Burtis, Shanna Gryder & Kaelin Therese McManimon & 2 great-grandchildren. Joan also leaves behind her lifelong friend of over 70 years, Patricia “Pat” Rajcevic. Private visitation is being held for immediate family at the Levandoski-Grillo Funeral Home, 44 Bay Avenue, Bloomfield, NJ 07003. All are welcome to attend the Funeral Mass on Thursday, January 13, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church, Bloomfield. Interment will follow at Glendale Cemetery, Bloomfield.
