John M. Pekar, 92 of Bloomfield, entered into eternal rest on December 8, 2022 surrounded by his family.
Born May 18, 1930 in Scranton, PA, he lived in Bloomfield most of his life. John was a proud US Air Force Korean War Veteran, serving honorably from 1951 to 1955 and achieving many service medals. On June 1, 1957, he married his love, Maryann Estelle Sanok, they were married for 61 years. He was a retired Service Manager from Prell Canon of Lodi, where he worked until he was 62. He was a past coach of the Bloomfield Northern Little League, an avid Bowler and loyal Giant’s & NY Mets fan (he couldn’t stand the Yankees). His most enjoyable times were spent summering in Wildwood Crest with his family, a tradition that began with his children and continued with his growing family.
He is predeceased by his wife, Maryann (2018) and his parents, John and Rose Pekar.
He is the cherished father of Doreen Barrow (Kurt), Donna Goldberg (Joel), Michael Pekar (Erica) & Steven Pekar (Dawn), beloved grandfather of Lauren(Keith), Stephanie(Rick), Keith(Natalie), Jillian, Steven, Kevin, Zachary, Kyle, Tyler & Jake and the proud & loving great-grandfather of Lily, Lucas, Colton, Sawyer, Abby & Liam.
Funeral Services will be held in private at Glendale Cemetery & Mausoleum, Bloomfield, NJ.
