Joseph C. King

Joseph C. King, 85, of Bloomfield, N.J. entered into eternal life on Saturday, August 24, 2019, with his loving family at his side.  Visitation will be at the Levandoski – Grillo Funeral Home & Cremation Service ( www.LevandoskiGrillo.com ) 44 Bay Avenue, Bloomfield, (Additional parking available on Broughton Avenue) on Tuesday, August 27th from 4:00 – 8:00 pm. Friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Wednesday at 8:30 am, prior to the Funeral Mass at 10:00 am in Saint Valentines Church, Bloomfield. Military Honors will be held after Mass at the church. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers please make donations in Joe’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org)  Mr. King was born in Newark and had lived most of his life in Bloomfield. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He then became a police officer with the Bloomfield Police Department for 32 years, retiring as a sergeant 28 years ago. During his retirement he was a teacher for Job Corps Center of Edison for 10 years.  Joe was a former member of the Bloomfield PBA. He was a motor cycle enthusiast, enjoyed fishing, but most of all spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was the beloved husband of 55 years to Barbara (nee Keane) King; father of Joseph C. King, Jr. & his wife Maria, Michelle Rumph & her husband David, Maureen Mustica & her husband Armando, and Patty Castellano & her husband Anthony; siblings, Walter King, Martin Gregorowicz, Margaret Belichak, the late Bertha Gregorowicz and the late Stanley Gregoriowicz; grandfather of Gabriella, Megan, David, Frankie, Emily, Joseph III (Joe-Joe), and Anthony.
