Joseph Duchensky

Duchensky, Joseph, age 92, of Montclair passed away on April 7, 2012 Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the funeral on Thursday, April 12 at 8:30 AM from the Union Funeral Home- Lytwyn & Lytwyn, 1600 Stuyvesant Ave., Union. The Funeral Liturgy will be at 9:30 AM at St. John's Ukrainian Catholic Church, Newark, with the interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. The visitation will be on Wednesday from 4 to 8 PM at the funeral home, with the parastas at 7:30 PM. Mr. Duchensky was the beloved husband of over 60 years of the late Eva (nee Weachock), the devoted father of Joseph and his wife Carol, Steven and his partner, Susan Gavin, Mary Robinson and her husband the late Ned, and John and his partner the late Elizabeth Shull. He was the loving grandfather of Karen Gorman and her husband Patrick, Joseph Duchensky and his wife Jillian, Nicholas Duchensky and his wife Emily, Kristy Duchensky and Benjamin Shull and the great grandfather of Ciara, Eva and Declan Gorman. He was the dear brother of Sister Jonathan SSMI, and the late John, Anna, Paul, Michael, and Walter Duchensky and Olga Maresca Mr. Duchensky was the Owner and Operator along with his family of Midland Upholstering of Montclair for over 50 years. He was an Army veteran of WWII, serving in the Pacific Theater. He also loved traditional Ukrainian egg decorating, Pysanky.
