Joseph H. Gilbert

Joseph H. Gilbert of Lafayette NJ formerly of Harrison passed away in Newton NJ on February 2, 2014 at the age of 78. Visiting hours are 4pm to 7pm on Thursday evening February 6that Levandoski Funeral Home 44 Bay Avenue Bloomfield. Visit www.levandoskifuneralhome.com. His funeral service will be at the funeral home at 11am on Friday morning.Interment will follow at Glendale Cemetery in Bloomfield. Surviving are his beloved wife Florence (nee Malloy), his loving son Sean Patrick Malloy, his nieces Carleen Petronella, Isabelle Atwood, his nephew Michael Malloy and his sister in law Evelyn Dandorph. Joseph was a Corrections Officer with the Bergen County Sheriffs Department for 22 years and retired in 2000. Prior to that he was with the Hudson County Sheriffs Department in the same capacity. He was a member of the Bergen County PBA Local 134. He was a proud Navy veteran during peacetime in the 1950's. In lieu of flowers donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital PO Box 1000 Dept 142 Memphis TN 38101 would be preferred.
