A hard working man, Joseph L. Lovius was stubborn yet a very caring, loving, compassionate, entertaining, and humorous person. He was always there to make you laugh when you wanted to cry. A wonderful husband and father, he raised his children to be the best they can be. He was a strong fighter and fought with all his might to the very end. He will always be in our hearts and will truly be missed by all. Joseph Laventure Lovius, 63, of Croydon, Pennsylvania, passed away on December 18, 2011 at the Hospital of University of Pennsylvania. He was born on October 3, 1948 in Fabias, Haiti, the son of the late Cherina and Lafortune Lovius. He was the youngest son of 17 siblings. On August 31, 1970, he married Degrace Duterval, who survives. He graduated from Lycee Toussaint Louverture. He traveled to the United States of America in October of 1973. He was employed at MAC Products (1973- 2005) as a Lead Man/Supervisor. He is survived by his wife, Degrace Lovius; his daughters, Cherinande, Judith, and Marly Lovius, and his only son, Laventure Lovius; his sisters, Charite Lovius and family and Edith Lovius and family; his grandchildren, Gerald Carless, Kenneth, Lamarr, and Marcellus Lovius, Thomas and Jahnae Beaubrun, and Maalik Joseph Gray, and all his nephews and nieces; his cousins; his in-laws, the Duterval/Duperval family; and all his family and friends.
