Josephine B Melucci

Josephine Bruno Melucci passed away peacefully on August 27, 2016, at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, New Jersey. She was born January 2, 1926, to Ottone and Raimonda Bruno in Ariano Irpino, Avellino, Italy, and was the fifth of eight children. In 1953 she married Michael Melucci, who passed on in 1982. She came to the USA in 1954, and lived in Newark, NJ, until moving to Irvington in 1967. In 1987 she moved to St. Petersburg, Florida. When she returned to New Jersey in 2004 she became the superintendent of her Maplewood apartment building, where she was known and loved by all of her fellow tenants. Mrs. Melucci was fond of showing off her fine singing voice, and participated in many local talent shows. Her friends remember her as a glamorous figure, who was always smiling and friendly to everyone. She is survived by two daughters, Mary Grace of Irvington, and Dina of West Orange. She also leaves behind two siblings, Maria Bruno Vastarella and Vittorio Bruno, as well as 15 nieces and nephews, who all reside in Italy. Mrs. Melucci will be interred with her late husband, Michael Melucci at Hollywood Cemetery. -------------------------------
