Josette Edouard departed this life peacefully on the 11th of April 2022 at the age of 82 at Center for Hope, in Elizabeth, NJ after prolonged illnesses. She was born and raised in Port -au- Prince, Haiti to Andrea Paul and Joseph Volcy on December 18, 1939. She migrated to the United States in 1970 working as a dress maker until 1982. After 25 years she worked as a room attendant at Best Western Hotel until she retired in 2002 She married her late husband Joseph R. Edouard in 1960 who died in May 2001. Although we are all gathered here today to mourn the life of Josette Edouard, she can never truly leave us. We can still see her in the eyes of her children; Fred Alex Paul, Donna Pongnon, William Edouard, Wesley Edouard, Evans Edouard and Ruben Jr. Edouard, her brother, Pierre H. Paul & Family. Her grandchildren; Daphney Cheron, Jenkins David, Carmeline Louinis, Marc Arthur Cyrille, Gabrielle Deshommes, Winifred Paul, Alexandra Paul, Anastasia Edouard, Jaleesah Edouard, Dimitri Edouard, Giscard Edouard, Celine Edouard, Janelle Edouard, Joseff Edouard, Lauren Edouard, Maya Edouard, Jeremiah Edouard and Derek Clark. Her great-grandchildren; Julianna David, Caleb Williams, Alijah Louinis, and Noah Ayden Cyrille. Her additional stepdaughters; Dany Pongnon Davis and Potusek-Pierre and Family, Kettly Hogu Desrosiers and Family. Along with her daughter in-laws; Mauze Paul, Mrylaine Edouard, Marie G. Edouard, Evelyn Edouard, Carly Edouard and Kathleen Mulroe. She will be missed by her nieces and nephews as well as her extended family and close friends; Anne Marie Saint-Ilme and Family (Lucille Taliferro, William Saint-Ilme Jr., Dalzie Saint-Ilme, Wilmyn Saint-Ilme, Angeline Saint-Ilme and Lawdlain Saint-Ilme), Miriam and Jean Dieudonne and Family (Melissa and Stephanie), Evans Phanor, Ulfried Phanor, Marjorie Phanor, Judite HiLaire and Family, Immacula Hyacinthe and Family, Monique Gilbert and Family, Mimose Ambroise and Family, Isabelle Armand and Family, Monique Abelard and Nehemie and Family, Marie Rock, Irma and Martha Prophete, MariClaire Locoste and Family. It is easy to dwell on the fact that Josette has left us too soon but let us remember all the wonderful times that we all had the chance to share with her while she was here. Josette would want us to pick ourselves up, find the things that inspire us and make a real difference in the world. That is what she did and the best way we can honor her is to do the same. She will be missed dearly but will always be forever in our hearts. Visitation on Saturday, April 23rd from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A Celebration of Life to begin at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at Hollywood Cemetery, Union
