Kennedy Hewitt

Kennedy Hewitt was born on January 6, 1944 to Simeon Hewitt and Anita Hamilton in Clarendon, Jamaica. Kennedys early years were spent in Jamaica, and at the age of 15 he traveled from Clarendon to the United Kingdom. He married in 1965 and in this union two beautiful children were born, Dionne Elease Hewitt and Andrea Claudette Hewitt. He migrated to the US at age of 27 and settled in New York City and was later united with his soul mate in Holy Matrimony on November 27, 1977 to Verna M. West-Hewitt for 40 years. To this beautiful union two children were born Ayana Malika West-Hewitt and Kenneth Simon Hewitt. Kennedy and Verna resided in Northern Jersey for 25 years and subsequently settled in Easton, Pennsylvania for 13 years. Kennedy had a devoted career as a Steamfitter/Welder, and was a loyal member of Local 638, in Long Island City, NY. He took pride in his work as well as everything that he put his mind to. Kenny had a genuine love and passion for landscaping and gardening. Kens many interests included watching professional wrestling, boxing, and action movies (westerns). Ken was known for his giving nature, tremendous love for family, and kind heart. He will forever be cherished in our hearts as a devoted husband, loving father, caring grandfather and kind friend. Kennedy accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. On May 25, 2018 the Lord whispered into his ear and said, it is ok to stop fighting the fight, and rest peacefully in his arms. His legacy and memories will forever be cherished by his loving Wife: Verna M. West-Hewitt; Children: Dionne Hewitt, Andrea(Steve) Hewitt, Ayana (Rowan) Hamilton, and Kenneth Simon (Mujadila) Hewitt. Grandchildren: Akeem (Stephanie) Bowen, Belita (Jason) Morris,Latecia Cassie Thomas, Kenyatta (Treka)Bowen, MichaelTevin Thomas, Ethan Bowen, Tonisha Walton, Anaya Hamilton, Marley Hamilton. Great Grands: Troy, Josiah, Keilah, Kenyatta Jr. (KJ), Kenya, Jru. Mother Anita Rowe ,Brothers and Sisters: Lenford, Icelin, Joycelyn, Hosea, Winsome, Dawn, Desmond, Tony, Jeflyn, Thelma, Myrtle, and Daphne (Jill). A host of Nieces, Nephews, cousins near and far, friends, and neighbors.
