In Loving Memory of Lamar Duryea Bond
April 2, 1968 – June 7, 2023
Lamar Duryea Bond, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, peacefully passed away surrounded by his loving family on June 7, 2023. Lamar was born on April 2, 1968, and his memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. He is now reunited with his dear mother Donalda Ellis, his brother Andre Ellis and grandmother Margaret Ellis, who preceded him in death.
Lamar's presence brought immeasurable joy and love to his family. He is survived by his aunt, Gloria Ellis, his sister, Latanya Everett, and his brothers, Rhett Ellis and Jai Bond, who will forever cherish the memories they shared together. Lamar's nephews, Shane T. Bond, Evan Everett, and Carter Bond, and his nieces, Enya Bond, Alana Bond, and Jordan Everett, were a source of immense pride and joy for him. He embraced his role as an uncle wholeheartedly and played an integral part in their lives, leaving behind a lasting impact. Lamar also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, whose lives he touched deeply with love, joy and compassion.
In his early years, Lamar's upbringing centered around the church, where he found solace and a sense of community. His faith remained an important aspect of his life, which provided him with strength and comfort during times of difficulty and served as a guiding force in his journey. He had a beautiful singing voice and was an active member of the choir.
Lamar attended the University of DC where he studied Procurement and Public Contracting. Professionally, he dedicated his time and skills as a Contract Administrator for the Federal Aviation Administration, Washington, DC for many years. His work showcased his dedication, diligence, and attention to detail. Lamar took pride in his contributions and built strong relationships with his colleagues along the way.
Lamar's kind and gentle nature endeared him to all who knew him. He had a warm smile that could light up a room and a genuine interest in the well-being of others. Lamar's compassionate soul and willingness to lend a helping hand created lasting friendships that became a part of his extended family.
Lamar had an appreciation for the simple joys in life and often found peace and fulfilment spending time with loved ones, and exploring the beauty of nature, music, laughter and love.
Lamar's passing leaves a void that can never be filled. He will be deeply missed by his entire family, as well as the countless friends whose lives he touched. Lamar's memory will be cherished through the stories and memories shared by those who loved him.
While we grieve the loss of Lamar Duryea Bond, we find solace in knowing that he lived a life filled with love, faith, and meaningful connections. May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his memory continue to inspire us to embrace each day with kindness, compassion, and a deep appreciation for the bonds of family and friends.
Public Visitation will be held on Friday, June 16, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Aenon Baptist Church, 1500 Brown Ave., Union, NJ. A Celebration of Life will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Glendale Cemetery, Bloomfield, NJ.
