Leila Megan Johnson was born on the 26th February, 1926 in Georgetown, Guyana, South America to the late Wilfred Sydney and Marion Isabella Anthony. She was the mother of Lesley, Nigel, and Nichette and the grandmother of Nicky, Jehan, Emann and Chelsea. She also had four great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Eustace Anthony, Neil Anthony and Russell Anthony. She was also the sister of Ivo Anthony. Megan was predeceased by her husband, Fitzgerald Johnson in March, 2011. Having completed high school at the age of 17, she started her working life as an Executive Assistant in the Civil Service where she met her husband, Fitzgerald Johnson. After marriage she became a full time housewife and subsequently worked for intermittent periods including being an administrator at Prasad's Hospital in Guyana. In 1984, she came to the United States and worked at International Fidelity Insurance in accounting until she retired in 1994. After arriving in the United States, she was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1985 and served Jehovah faithfully until her death. She had a firm belief in the resurrection where Jehovah promises that there is going to be a resurrection of the righteous and the unrighteous. (Acts 24:15) She will be remembered as a kind, loving and warm person who put others first before herself. She was also very encouraging, supportive and had a bright, optimistic view of life. Left to mourn her loss are her children, Lesley, Nigel, and Nichette, daughter-in-law, Sharman and grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will also be missed by her cousins, Cicely, Enid, Ernest, Ian, her sister-law Bibi and a host of other relatives Megan looked forward to the time when the Bible states in Revelation 21:4 that " he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be any more. The former things have passed away." We look forward to seeing our Mom again!
