Leonarda Oddo (nee Prisinzano) died peacefully on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 in Montclair. Born on February 24, 1940 in Petralia Soprana (Fasanò), Sicily to the late Giuseppe and Maria Concetta (nee Minneci) Prisinzano. She is predeceased by her husband Giuseppe Oddo. Leonarda (aka Alda, Narduzza) was born and raised in a pastoral town in Sicily. She emigrated to New York at the age of 19 and resolutely retained her Sicilian sensibilities. As a result she was scrupulously clean, suspicious of strangers, intuitive, religious and always ready to smile. Her heart and soul were forever in her home town and the family that she left behind. She was swept away by the music of Gianni Morandi, Iva Zanicchi and Luciano Pavarotti. She was filled with infinite goodness and a sense of childhood innocence. She lived for her children and was cherished by them. Adored by her grandchildren she would often be seen secretly stuffing money into their palms or forcing them to eat. She is the loving mother of Cherubino Oddo (wife Maryann), daughter Josephine, son Vincenzo (wife Tressa), daughter, Maria (husband James). She is beloved grandmother to Erica Avella (husband Ryan), Michael (wife Justine), Joey, Krystal (husband Tony), Vincent, Tristan, Sofia and great grandmother to Danny, Rocco, Gino, Rylee, Jeremiah, Michaela, Mia, Angelina, Mikala.
