Lloyd George Palmer, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend was born on April 18, 1943, in Long Road, St Mary, Jamaica. He was one of five siblings to parents Rubena Giscombe, and Leonard Palmer. Lloyd departed his life on Tuesday, June 20, at 3:30 pm at St Barnabas Hospital, Livingston, New Jersey, with is family by his side.
Lloyd began his early education in Jamaica then migrated to England at the age of 16 where he resided with his mother and attended Hammer Smith Trade school there, he became a Building Engineer.
After Graduating trade school Lloyd’s talent landed him several jobs. He was a person who loved working, was very ambitious, self-sufficient and an elegant dresser.
Lloyd later migrated to Canada and then New Jersey In 1970. In 1969 Lloyd met Marjorie Robinson. They were later married in November 1971. The union produced two children Lloyd Palmer Jr., December 1973 and Karen Palmer in January 1975. In New Jersey, Lloyd worked with the Ideal Toy Company then moved on to East Orange General Hospital in 1994.
Lloyd’s Commitment and exemplary work ethic was unmatched. Lloyd’s first and unwavering commitment was to family and friends but would go above and beyond for anyone that needed his help. Lloyd was a motivator and was always ready to offer up nuggets of advice, wisdom, or occasional corrections.
He had a fiery passion for politics and spent hours in front of the various Cable News and Political Channels, very often becoming part of the debates. His infectious smile could not be missed neither could his European /British dress style. Though, opinionated he always allowed other to express their ideas.
Lloyd is predeceased by his mother Rubena Giscombe, Father Leonard Palmer, sister Cidaney, and son Lloyd Junior.
He leaves behind wife Marjoire, daughter Karen, grandsons Jaxon and Jordan, sisters Inez, Eva, and Anita along with many other relatives and friends. Lloyd will be missed.
Visitation on Thursday, July 6th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Union Funeral Home, 1600 Stuyvesant Ave., Union, NJ.
On Friday, July 7th, viewing will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Crossroads Christian Fellowship, 2815 Morris Avenue, Union, NJ. A Celebration of Life will begin at 10:00 a.m. Cremation will take place privately.
