In memoriam and tribute to Loretta Cammon who passed away on December 29, 2023 in the comfort of her home. She is survived by her daughters Laura & Brenae, grandson Owen, her sister Jean, and a host of relatives and friends.
Loretta was born on October 6, 1943 in Washington D.C. Coming from humbling and very difficult beginnings, but her parents’ work ethic was instilled in her at an early age and would follow her throughout her lifetime. Growing up in D.C. she met & married William Cammon. She continued pursuing nursing where she worked at various hospitals in D.C., and Bergen Pines after the family moved to NJ. Later becoming a Lab Tech for Playtex then Maidenform, where she retired.
Loretta always believed in giving back and helping wherever and whenever she could. She spent a lot of her free time tutoring adults at the library, continuing her education, helping neighbors & strangers, and volunteering wherever she could. She loved reading, writing short stories, gardening, bowling, fishing, listening to music, dancing, traveling, attending jazz & cultural events, and anything historical. She thought you should always continue learning and that she did.
To know Loretta was to know a strong kind-hearted person. She never hesitated to lend a hand, a word or dollar to someone in need or struggling. “Do no intentional harm” she would say and she lived up to that belief. She touched the lives of everyone she encountered. May her family, friends and all who knew her have lasting memories of the time they shared.
