Louis R. Papale, 70, of Summit, entered into eternal rest on April 29, 2024. He was born in Brooklyn New York on October 1, 1953 to the late Louis N. and Joan Papale (nee Tagliaferri). Louis grew up on Long Island before eventually moving to West Orange and then to Summit in 1987. A graduate of Seton Hall Prep, he went on to attain his doctorate in Civil Engineering from NJIT. He retired after many years as the owner of Big Lou’s Wheels in Motion and Philip's Service Station, both in Union. Louis was an active member of the NJ Gasoline Retailers Association and enjoyed spending time at his Hudson Valley vacation home in Cold Spring, New York
He is survived by his loving wife, Carole (nee Kretchmer), his sisters Kathleen Petrillo (Joseph) and JoAnn Hari (the late Keith Hari) and brother Robert Papale (owner of Lee Myles) and many nieces and nephews: Michael & Michelle Petrillo, Christopher & Melissa Petrillo, Amanda Hari, Rachel & Michael Ramirez and great-grand nephew Matthew Petrillo.
Louis was preceded in death by his loving parents and a baby sister, JoAnn Papale.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
Mausoleum Entombment will be held on Friday, May 3, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. at Hollywood Mausoleum 1500 Stuyvesant Ave, Union with a lunch repast following.
A Celebration of Life is planned for a later date to be announced.
