Louis Scerbo

Louis Scerbo, 81 of Lyndhurst, formerly of Jersey City, entered peacefully into eternal life on February 6, 2024, at his home with his family by his side. Born in Marcellinara, Catanzaro, Italy on February 21, 1943, to the late Antonio Scerbo & Rosina Barberio, he lived in Jersey City since the age of 13. Mr. Scerbo was a retired driver for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

A devout Catholic, Mr. Scerbo was a proud parishioner of Holy Rosary Church, Jersey City. There he was an active member of the past Holy Name Society. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus – Lyndhurst Council 2396 and was an avid Yankee’s fan. Mr. Scerbo enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, going out for a nice meal or just having a cup of coffee with his friends. However, his greatest enjoyment came from talking baseball with his grandson Rocco. He was always there to cheer him on at his games and if he could not make it, he made sure they would talk about it afterwards.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carol (nee: Trezza).

Surviving to cherish his memory are his son, Anthony Scerbo & wife Catherine, his grandson, Rocco, his sister Maria Colacino & her husband Frank and nephew Fred Colacino & niece Rose Ann Schreiber. He is also survived by other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 9, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Levandoski-Grillo Funeral Home, 44 Bay Avenue, Bloomfield, NJ. (Valet Parking will be available at the Funeral Home)

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, 344 Sixth St., Jersey City, NJ. (Parking available in both parking lots at 6th and Brunswick Sts. or directly behind the Church). Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. (Please meet directly at Church on Saturday morning)
