Luz Maria Colon

Luz Maria Colon, 86 of Union, entered into eternal life on January 10, 2023, at Cooperman St. Barnabas Medical Center, Livingston.

Born January 1, 1937, in Ponce, Puerto Rico, to the late Jose Colon & Felicita Cordero, she moved to the Bronx in 1979, raised her family and in 1993, she returned to Puerto Rico. For many years, she traveled back and forth between Puerto Rico and the Bronx spending much time with her family. She moved back to the US in 2016.

She was a devoted caretaker of her home and family. She loved listening to Christian music in the mornings, watching “her shows” on TV, playing number puzzles and most especially spending time with her family. That brought her the most joy.

She is the cherished mother of Adelina Garcia, Maritza Garcia, Gloria Garcia, Brenda Garcia, Margarita Garcia, Madeline Garcia, Ramon Garcia & Ernesto Garcia. She is also survived by 26 beloved grandchildren & 6 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 16, 2023 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Funeral Home.

The Funeral will be conducted on Tuesday, gathering at the Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. followed by burial at Rosemount Cemetery, 1109 Neck Lane, Elizabeth, NJ.
