Madeline Battaglia of Bloomfield passed away on November 6th 2012, at the age of 87. Friends and family may visit on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m at Levandoski Funeral Home, 44 Bay Avenue in Bloomfield. Her Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday morning at 10 a.m. in St. Valentine's Church,Bloomfield followed by the burial at Glendale Cemetery in Bloomfield..Born in Newark on January 27th 1925, Madeline was a resident of Bloomfield for the past 50 years. Madeline worked at Westinghouse for several years until the birth of her two children, when she left the workplace to care for her family. Madeline was an active member of the Cherry Blossom and Watsessing Tuesday Senior Citizen Clubs.Madeline was the beloved wife and soulmate of the late Angelo (Boops) Battaglia, to whom she was married for 61 years. She is survived by her daughter, Victoria Eickenberg of Medina, Ohio formerly of Clifton, NJ; her son Theodore and wife, MaryBeth, of Lake Hopatcong and her son-in-lawAlfred Eickenberg of Clifton. She was the beloved grandmother to Michael Eickenberg (Lauren), Lisa Monte (Donato), Robert Eickenberg (Melissa), Megan Battaglia, Theodore Battaglia and Justin Podany.Madeline was the loving great-grandmother to Luke Eickenberg, Victoria Rose Monte, Daniella Monte,Madison Eickenberg and Jake Eickenberg. She was the loving sister to Anna Zangari and Francis Martino as well as the late Katherine Savastano and Sal Valvano; and loving sister-in-law of Theresa Battaglia.In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Tribute Program, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis,Tennessee 38148 in her memory would be preferred.
