Manuel Vaz

Manuel Vaz, 80, of Union, N.J., passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2024 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 1000 N. Broad Street, Hillside, N.J. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 12 p.m. with interment following at Fairview Cemetery, Westfield, N.J. Born in Vale Verde, Portugal to the late Antonio and Anna Vaz, Manuel came to the U.S. in 1958 and lived in Jamaica, NY and Hillside, N.J. before settling in Union. Prior to retiring, he was the proud owner of his own landscaping business. Manuel was known for his kindness, forgiveness, and ability to make everyone he came across comfortable and happy. He would always help anybody that asked for help. His loving spirit will always be remembered.

Predeceased by his parents, he is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Maria F. Vaz; loving children, Fernando Vaz and Suzanne DeLaPrida; and cherished grandchildren, Nicholas and Marcus DeLaPrida.
