Maria F. Spaldo, 60 of Sunset Beach, North Carolina, entered into eternal life on Saturday April 3, 2021 at her home. Born in downtown Jersey City to the late Francis and Rose Spaldo (nee Suskie), she was a resident of North Arlington, NJ for many years prior to living in Sunset Beach, North Carolina in 2011. Maria worked as a secretary for the Hudson County Court House until 1990. She then became a secretary at the central office of the Jersey City Board of Education and also at various public schools in Jersey City from 1991-2009 when she retired. While in North Carolina she was employed as a receptionist with Loomis Chiropractic. She loved Mick Jagger and listening to The Rolling Stones. She enjoyed shopping, talking on the phone for hours to her many friends and family, going to the beach, her cat Cubby, laughing and joking with anyone she met. Maria enjoyed being part of every family celebration and had heart of gold. She is the beloved partner of Daniel Flannigan and the beloved sister of Teresa Grillo and her husband Salvatore, Anthony Spaldo and his wife Sonia, and the late Francis Spaldo, Jr. She is the proud and loving aunt to her nephew Nicholas J. Grillo and niece Gianna Renna (nee: Grillo) and her husband Joseph, Great Auntie to Giuliana Renna who was the light of her life. She is also survived by many dear friends in both North Carolina and New Jersey. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 8, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.at the Levandoski-Grillo Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 44 Bay Ave., Bloomfield, NJ. Relatives and Friends are invited to gather on Friday morning, April 9th for the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, 344 Sixth Street, Jersey City.
