MARIAN M. CZAP, 86 Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother & Great Grandmother Marian M. Czap (nee Motuz) passed away at home on October 22, 2012 surrounded by her loving family after a long illness. Funeral arrangements will be conducted by Lytwyn and Lytwyn Funeral Home, 1600 Stuyvesant Ave., Union with viewings on October 25th from 2-4 and 7-9. Parastas will be at 7:30pm. The funeral will be on October 26th at 8:30am at the funeral home followed by a mass at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Vailsburg. Burial will be at St. Andrew's Ukrainian Orthodox cemetery in Bound Brook. Marian was born in Newark on November 11, 1925. She lived in Irvington for 20 yrs, and Union for 40 yrs. before living with her daughter in Cranford for the past 6 yrs. She worked for the Elastic Stop Nut Company, Trident Savings and Loan and the Irvington Board of Education from which she retired in 1990 after 23 years of service. Marian was predeceased by her husband Wesley (1998). She was a member of the Professional Business Women's Association and the Rosary Alter Society of St. John's Ukrainian Catholic Church. There is no question that Marian's first priority was that of her family. However, she will always be remembered for her love of children, jokes and polkas. Marian is survived by her three daughters Christine Matlin (John) of Metuchen, Joanne Czap of Cranford and Betty Jane Czap of Flemington. Two grandchildren -Jennifer Matlin Savage (Seth) of Westminster MA and Eric Matlin (Erin) of Methuen, MA, and her great-grandson Elias Matlin. She is, also, survived by her brother and friend John Motuz (Olga Urchuk) of Port Orange, FL, nieces and nephews, her dear friend Pat, and her canine companion Lucy. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Stroke Association or the American Cancer Society.
