On December 24, 1956 born Marie Lurenne Louis born in Dame Marie Haiti, daughter of Dieula Louis, has been baptized on March 2, 1957 in the Parish of Dame Marie confirmly to the Register of the year of 1957.Marie was the youngest of six children, she graduated from the college Nativity De Dame Marie in Haiti. Marie migrated to the United States with her two siblings Claudette and Marceau Louis in the year of 1980 lived in Rockland County New York in a small town called Nyack. Marie continued her education attended Rockland community college and received an associate degree in liberal arts. In 1982 Marie went to Haiti to marry her Fianc Pierre Laurent, who then came to the United States to begin the family journey with Marie. In 1985 Marie and Pierre had their first born son, the couple then moved from New York relocated in the state of New Jersey in township of Irvington. Marie continued her education and pursued a career in Cosmetology at Wilfred Academy. After graduating from Wilfred Academy Marie was blessed to have and own her beauty salon shop located on Groove street in Irvington. Marie had great success with the business until she became pregnant with her second born, with difficulty managing the shop and dealing with pregnancy Marie had to make one of the most difficult decisions in her lifetime which was shutting down the shop. Marie continued with her profession privately in her home for several years. As years progressed Marie found a calling from God to leave her most desired profession to be closer and spiritually connected with God. Marie began to attend mass regularly and affiliated herself with joining Catholic charismatic groups at the churches of St. Leo and Holy Spirit. Marie worked as a mental health counselor for a company called Serv Behavioral Center for 15 years working with adult clients with severe mental illness. Marie's relationship with God was unique and extraordinary, Marie experienced some spiritual encounters in her lifetime that was jaw dropping. Marie's devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Padre Pio was one of the greatest joys, moments, and wonders that she lived for. Marie's Catholic faith and belief for God is what a true Christian is suppose to imitate and follow regularly. When Marie discovered that she was diagnosed with Als her response to the Doctors and family members was " God knows best, If God wants me to suffer with this illness let his will be done, but if not do not worry God will heal me when the time is right." Unfortunately Marie did not receive God's healing but she received God's grace. Marie is an example of true Christian faith, the whole time Marie was suffering and battling the disease of Als she did not once panic, complained, and asked why is this happening to her, she took it day by day remaining positive and strong in faith. Marie Laurent will not only be missed for being a wonderful wife, a great mother, loving aunt, and a charming sibling. Marie Laurent will also be missed for the lives of others that she touched through her ministry and discipleship in the Catholic church, and her bright smile that enlighten the hearts of those that were in need of a closer relationship with God and a great friend. Marie Laurent was an angel sent by God to be with us momentarily on earth, now God has called her back home to rest with great delighted peace eternally in heaven. Let us always keep Marie Laurent in our thoughts and most definitely in our prayers. Thank you
