Marie Roselia Maxi

Marie Roselia Maxi, 88 of Union, known to everyone as "Roselia", was born on March 23, 1934 in Passe-a-Roche, near Marchand- Dessalines, Haiti. She is the youngest child of Destine Destinoble and Maxi Dumas. In her younger years, Roselia was a merchant and farmer (Madame Sara). She was immersed in her local church and dedicated her life to the Lord. Roselia loved to joke and tease, and make others laugh. She never went a day without making her coffee. She spent her later years between Haiti and New Jersey, spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Roselia was blessed with a large and loving family.

She is survived by her daughters Saintania, Sicile, Yltrude and Sainsoinette, and sons Frederick, Fritz, Louisius, Florvil and Flore Beaute, and goddaughter Amelie Merceus; her in -laws Gervens Jean-Pierre, Marie Lourdes Beaute, Solette Jean-Pierre Beaute, Bernadette Beaute, and Erzula Casseus; grandchildren Excelant, Wilson, Sancois, Marie Carmelle, Blanc and Cubain Joseph, Fredeline, Roselyne, Brian, Andrew, Emilie, and Antonio Beaute, Chedlin, Nelson, Fedler, Jacky, Florence, and Nelda Biennestin, Gercy, Scherdlens, Jeff, Jervivia, Gervens II, and Tschadsnael Jean-Pierre, Freed Lentz, Marianna, and Fritzdjana Beaute, Lloyd, Lawrence, Robin, Zagalo, Lawrencia and Maryssa Beaute, Tanot, Tanette, Yvenick, and Dorceline Beaute, Gracia, Waking and Djeny Beaute, and Louis Junior and Bervely Beaute. She also leaves behind thirty-five great grandchildren.

Roselia passed away at home, peacefully on August 26th, at the age of 88, with her daughter Sicile and a few of her grandchildren by her side. She will be greatly missed and celebrated by her loved ones.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2022 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

A Celebration of Life will begin at 10:00 a.m.  Burial will follow at Hollywood Cemetery, Union.
