Mary D. Walker

Mary D. Walker, formerly of Bloomfield, NJ, passed away on August 28, 2020 in her 88th year. Mary was born in Carbondale, PA, the third daughter and youngest child of Karl and Helen (Conner) Hofmann. The family moved to New Jersey in 1943. Mary was a 1949 graduate of Ridgefield Park High School. In 1951, she was working at North Jersey Savings and Loan in Passaic when she met Arthur D. Walker. They were married in 1954, and were together until Arthur’s death in 1985. Mary was employed at The Mountainside Hospital in Montclair for 30 years before joining Montclair Medical Group where she worked until retirement. Mary was a source of unconditional love, strength, and humor, upon which her family relied. Although we mourn her passing, our love, respect, and admiration for her will be in our hearts forever. Mary is survived by her daughter Ann Marie, son Donald and his partner Christian, daughter-in-law Gail, and her beloved grandchildren, Elizabeth and AJ. She is also survived by her sister, Claire, and many cherished nieces and nephews. Her elder son, Arthur Mark, predeceased her, as did her siblings John and Catherine. Services are private.
