She served at military bases in California, North Dakota and elsewhere. She was honorably discharged as a private first class in 1946 and awarded the WWII medal of Victory. She enjoyed many visits from her grandson, RJ, (Richard Jonathon), who lovingly refereed to her as Nanny. Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve (Wigilia), Christmas day, and Easter Holidays were always special gathering times with Mary's many sisters and their families. After her husband's retirement, they both graciously volunteered as bingo workers for many years supporting Saint Stanislaus Parish and the Polish Cultural Foundation, Clark, NJ. Mary was predeceased by her husband, John F. Grabowy, and six sisters. She is survived by her children, daughter Ann E. Granziel, and her husband Richard; son Joseph Grabowy; her grandson, Richard J. Granziel; her sister, Mildred Tulala, of Perth Amboy, NJ, and a host of extended family members including nieces and nephews. Mary, we love you very much and will never forget you. Everyone was blessed to have known you and share in your sense of patriotism, family pride, Polish traditions, generosity, and overall positive influence. We thank you for the family values you espoused and their impact on us all. The family is also thankful for Mary's caretakers who provided her with care and comfort.
