Mary Lou Zubel

Mary Louise Zubel, 74, of Manchester, NJ passed away peacefully on the evening of December 11, 2022. Born in Jersey City to the late Dominick & Theresa Amoroso, she attended Holy Rosary Grammar School and James J Ferris High School in downtown Jersey City. At the age of 44 she became a proud graduate of Hudson County Community College. She retired as Director, Purchasing at Jersey City Medical Center. She was a devoted wife and mother to her handsome husband and 2 beautiful children, all of whom predeceased her.

Mary Lou suffered many physical ailments and tragedies throughout her life. Despite the pain she was a woman of unwavering faith. She had an infectious laugh, loved Atlantic City and playing BINGO, Doo Wop Music, dancing and dining out. She was often sought out and always available to give guidance and support. She fought valiantly till the end but was very ready to be reunited at long last with her precious children and husband.

Mary Lou is preceded in death by her husband Lawrence, son Lawrence Jr. and daughter Loriann.

She leaves behind her Aunt Catherine, 4 Godchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her Annie, all of whom were dear to her.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2022, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, 344 Sixth St., Jersey City, NJ. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Holy Name Cemetery, Jersey City.

Parking is available in the parking lots on the corner of 6th & Brunswick Sts.
