Mary T Fossella

Mary T. Fossella of Estero, FL, formerly known as Mary T. McKenna Dolan, passed away on April 18, 2023, at Hope Hospice in Bonita Springs, FL.

Mary was born in Bayonne, NJ the third of six children to John F. and Margaret McKenna on October 21, 1937. She possessed a deep and fierce love and devotion to her family including her husband of 21 years, Joseph F. Fossella. She had three sons with Joseph P. Dolan (deceased June 1996) with whom she was married for 34 years: Greg (Joy) of Simi Valley, CA, Kevin (Lisa) of Ft Myers, FL, and Tim (Gail) of Bloomfield, NJ.

Mary was predeceased by her brothers John, Michael, and Kevin and sister Peggy Boyle. She is survived by her sister Theresa Colbath as well as grandchildren Justin, Devin, Sarah, Joseph, Grace and Casey, and countless nieces and nephews that will all miss her dearly.

Mary possessed a larger-than-life personality with a smile and laugh that would light up the room. She loved to dance and sing and was incredibly proud of her Irish heritage. She overcame fear and adversity, allowing her to live a life that was second to none and enabled her to travel around the world and have incredible and unexpected adventures. Later in life, she took to the water as first mate on the Jersey Bounce and shared many cruises with her husband Joe. She was filled with kindness, love, a creative streak, principled independence, and deep faith. She treated everyone with respect and dignity and has left her family celebrating this tenacious, daring, passionate woman and a life well lived. Celebration of her life will be held in NJ at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Shikany’s Bonita Funeral Home Family Owned and Operated Since 1978.

Memorial Visitation will be held on Friday, May 19, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

All are also invited to attend a Celebration of Life on Saturday, May 20th from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Brookdale, 1099 Broad Street, Bloomfield, NJ.   All are welcome.
