Melquiade Pereira

Melquiade Pereira, 78 of Newark, entered into eternal rest on January 23, 2023 at Runnells Specialized Rehab & Care Center, Berkley Heights.   Born in Guanabo, Puerto Rico on August 20, 1944 to the late Domingo Maldonado & Marcelina Rodirguez, she came to the US at the age of 16 and resided most of her life in Newark's Forest Hill Neighborhood.

She is the beloved mother of Lydia Ayala & her husband, Ricardo, Ralph Pereira & his wife, Lucy & of Elvin Pereira, loving grandmother of Devon, Dylan, Natasia, Naya, Sahara, Elvin, Jr., & Keisha.   She is also survived by her siblings; Tomasa Mendez & Freddy Maldonado.  She was also survived by Yvette Rodriguez, who she considered as a daughter.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2023 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.

Relatives and Friends are invited to return on Friday at 10:00 a.m.   A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m.

Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
