Michael Gamba

Michael Gamba, 62 of Jersey City, entered into eternal rest on June 27, 2019. Born in Jersey City, he was a lifelong resident of downtown and graduate of Ferris High School.  Mike enjoyed the simple things in life, football, baseball, hanging out at the old Lakewood Tavern on 7th Street and just hanging out on “the stoop”.   He worked for a time as a mover and was certified to repair slot machines.  He is predeceased by his parents, Salvatore & Lucy (nee: Fanora) & his brother, Stephen.   He is the beloved brother of Margaret “Chickie” Walsh Gamba, Mary Foltyn & her husband, Tod & Salvatore Gamba, Jr., loving uncle of Vanessa & Alan Sheinewald, Michael Foltyn, Tod, Foltyn, Jr., Lisa Walsh, Billy Walsh, Jennifer Walsh, Laurie Ann Walsh & Stephen Gamba.  He is also survived by his aunt Josie Mattina & many great nieces and nephews.  A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, 344 Sixth St., Jersey City, NJ.  For online condolences and tributes, please visit: www.LevandoskiGrillo.com Services under the care of Grillo Funeral Service, 44 Bay Ave., Bloomfield, NJ.
