Michael Nychay

Nychay, Michael , 100, passed away at South Mountain Rehabilitation Center in Vauxhall, NJ on January 26, 2012. Relatives and Friends are kindly invited to attend the funeral service on Monday, January 30 at 11 AM at the Union Funeral Home (unionfuneralhome.com) 1600 Stuyvesant Ave., Union. There will be a visitation on Sunday from 4-8 PM and Monday from 10-11 AM. The cremation will be private. Michael was the beloved husband of the late Mary (nee Singalewitch), the devoted father of Gail Kuzyszyn and her husband Steve, and the dear brother of Olga Baatz and the late Pauline Corvo and Stanley Nychay. Born in Garfield, he lived in Newark and Irvington before moving to Union in 1952. He worked at Prudential in Newark for 45 years before retiring in 1975. Michael served in the Army during WWII and was a member of the Ukrainian American Veterans Post 6 of Newark. He was also a member of the Masons West Essex Lodge # 040 , and the Musicians Guild of Essex County Local 16.
