Michael Rubino

Michael Rubino of Pearl River, New York, passed away on Wednesday September 1, 2021, at the age of 67. Visitation will be held at the Levandoski-Grillo Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 44 Bay Avenue, Bloomfield, New Jersey on Friday September 10th from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held in the funeral home on Saturday September 11th at 9:30 a.m. (please arrive by 9:00 a.m.) Pastor Santos Olivero will be officiating. Burial will follow in Glendale Cemetery, 28 Hoover Avenue, Bloomfield, New Jersey. Michael was born on March 31, 1954, in New York City, N.Y. to the late Michael Rubino and the late Virginia (nee Gallo) Rubino. He was raised and lived in New York City prior to moving to Pearl River, N.Y. over 30 years ago. Mr. Rubino, served over 20 years with the New York City Police Department. Michael Rubino was an active Union Member and delegate for the PBA (Police Benevolent Association) during his time with the N.Y.P.D. Michael Rubino also held a position as mailroom handler for the New York Daily News for over 40 years. He was still employed by the Daily News until the time of his passing. He had a passion for working on and collecting classic cars, this passion he shared and passed down to his son. Over the years he enjoyed making memories and spending time with his family in Lakewood, New Jersey. He was a devoted follower of Christ and a true family man in every sense of the word. Michael was the beloved husband of Monserrate (nee Olivero) Rubino for 45 years; devoted father of Lisa Ann Soto & her husband Avery, Nina Christine Rubino, and Michael Manuel Rubino; dear brother of Robert Gallo, John Didyk, Virginia Bohr, Richard Rubino, and the late Vivian Russo; cherished grandfather of Tristan Avery Soto, Cole Alexander Soto, and Anamaria Francesca Soto. Michael was also survived by his faithful dog Olive. Michael’s legacy will forever live in their hearts.
