Mildred K. Surowitch

Mildred K. Surowitch, 93, of Maplewood, NJ, passed away at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, on June 2, 2015. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the funeral on Friday, June 5 at 8:30 AM from the Union Funeral Home-Lytwyn & Lytwyn, 1600 Stuyvesant Ave., Union with the funeral Mass at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 217 Prospect St., South Orange. There will be a visitation at the funeral home on Thursday, 6/4, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The cremation will be private. Mildred was the beloved wife of over 50 years of the late William, she was the loving daughter of the late Frank and Anne Kuzel. Mrs. Surowitch was the devoted mother of Robert P., Donald and his wife Erin, Jonathan D., Lynn M., and Elizabeth Surowitch, Jane A. Callandrillo and her husband Philip and the late Joseph Surowitch., the loving grandmother of Christianna and Miles Forman, Joseph and Christina Callandrillo and the late William Callandrillo. She was the dear sister of John and Walter Kuzel and Francis Poranski and is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mildred was a graduate of Westside High School in Newark and worked for various law firms as a legal secretary and later as a paralegal including, Sills, Beck, Cummis, Kent & Radin of Newark, NJ. She loved dancing and gardening.
