Myron Stebelsky, 84, passed on to his reward on June 5, 2012, peacefully at his Newark home with his loving wife by his side. Myron was born August 1, 1927, in Boryslaw, Ukraine. He moved to New Jersey in 1950 and married Alexandra Kuzyk in 1952 in New York, New York. Myron is survived by his wife of 59 years, Alexandra, and his daughter Zirka Kos and son in law Orest Kos of Toronto, Canada. Myron was extremely active in the Ukrainian Community and served as President as well as Board Member of Chornomorska Sitch (UAEA) and the Ukrainian Sport Federation of US and Canada (USACK). His passion was the development of Ukrainian Youth through sports activities. He spent many years providing leadership and guidance to Ukrainian Children and Young Adults. He was an integral part of the founding of the SITCH Sports School where he spent numerous summers donating his time and talents to improving the sports skills and social development of hundreds of children. Myron was an active member of the St. John's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Newark. Viewing will be at The Union Funeral Home Lytwyn & Lytwyn 1600 Stuyvesant Ave Union, NJ on Friday June 8, 2012. from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The Parastas will be at 7:30 pm. Funeral Services will be at St. John's Ukrainian Catholic Church on Sanford Ave, Newark on Saturday June 9th at 9:30 am followed by burial at Hollywood Cemetery in Union. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Chornomorska SITCH located at 60 C North Jefferson Rd, Whippany, NJ 07981.
