Natasha, also known as Trini, was born on October 6, 1971 in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad.

Natasha grew up in Flatbush, Brooklyn, where she later met the love of her life, George Thurmond. The two were united in marriage on July 23, 1994, and shared 36 beautiful years together, building a life filled with love, faith, and family. Their union was blessed with four children: Jawanza, George Jr., Jafana, and Jekiah. Natasha’s legacy continues through her four grandchildren, with a fifth on the way.

A devoted wife and mother, Natasha lived her life in service to her family and to God. She was known for her open heart, always ready to extend a helping hand or a place to stay to family members in need. Natasha’s life was marked by her deep faith and dedication to the Orisha Faith. She served God fearlessly and was a beacon of love, changing the lives of those around her.

Natasha’s spirit was one of forgiveness and peace, embodying her personal motto: “Forgive even when the person who hurt you isn’t sorry, and do not harbor negative feelings towards others.” Her wisdom and encouragement motivated others to strive to be their best selves, leaving a mark on everyone she encountered.

Professionally, Natasha made her living in the banking industry, where she was respected for her diligence and integrity. Her presence brought comfort and guidance to many, not just in her career but in all walks of life.

As Natasha takes her place in the Kingdom of the Lord, she is welcomed by her beloved family members who have gone before her: Rita Winn (Tanta), Viola Springer (Olga), Kelvin Winn, Irene Winn, Foster Darceuil, Frankie Darceuil, Thelma Primus (Omi), Carlton Darceuil (Sonny), Yolanda Martinez (Yolun), and Edmond Winn (Pango). All of cherished memory, Praise God, Amen.

She is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren, her mother, Donna Long, her father, John Long, and her siblings Jaja Long, Najja Long, and Kikelomo Long.

Natasha's legacy of love, strength, and devotion will continue to live on through her family and all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed but forever cherished in our hearts.
