Norberto “Norman” Castillo, 79 of Belleville, entered into eternal rest on November 15, 2024 at Mountainside Medical Center, Glen Ridge. Born in Santander, Spain on July 1, 1945 he lived in Newark before moving to Belleville 38 years ago. Norman was a proud US Army Veteran having served from 1967 – 1969. He retired as a butcher in 2014, having last worked for the Nutley Shoprite for 40 years.
Norman enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. He made many visits to family in Vancouver, Canada and Spain, annual trips to Las Vegas or a journey to the casino. When at home, the History Channel and Discovery Channel were his favorites. He also know for making his famous Sangria for DBC holidays. He enjoyed mornings at the Cafe and playing the lottery. Above all, he loved his friends and family near and far.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda (nee: Montefusco), his son Anthony, nephew James Confessore, nieces Lisa Wink (Bob) & Maria Kruger & his great nephews, Christopher & Paulie. He is also survived by his dear friends, Dr. Joe & Barbara Torito & Rocky & Betty Beran.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Levandoski-Grillo Funeral Home, 44 Bay Ave., Bloomfield, NJ
Relatives and Friends are invited to attend the Funeral on Thursday, November 21st at 9:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Valentine Church, Bloomfield, at 10:00 a.m. Mausoleum Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington.
