Norman's education began at Peshine Avenue Grammar School in Newark where he graduated Valedictorian and continued at Irvington High School where he graduated Salutatorian and was a member of the National Honor Society, the Varsity Baseball team, the State Debating Champion and the President of his graduating class. He then graduated with Distinction from the University of Virginia where he was the recipient of a Dupont full scholarship, a member of Phi Beta Kappa, President of the Jefferson Honor Society and President of the Board of Directors of the University of Virginia Magazine. His legal education followed at Rutgers Law School in Newark where he received his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree. As a law student, he received 3 year scholarships from the NJ State and Rutgers Law School Alumni Associations, was Secretary of the Student Bar Association, President of his Graduating Class and a member of the Executive Committe4e and the Alumni Council As an attorney, Norm was admitted to practice Law in New Jersey, including all Federal Courts and was admitted to practice before the US Supreme Court. He was a Partner and Senior Trial Attorney at the firm, Rotolo, Rotolo, Yi and Karpf, a multicultural Law Firm consisting of lawyers of Italian, Korean and German descent He was certified as a Civil Trial Attorney and designated as Chairman of District VI Ethics Committee by the NJ Supreme Court. Norm was Master, Member of the Executive Committee, Vice President and Program Committee Chairman of the Hudson American Inn of Court. He was a lecturer and author for NJ Institute of Continuing Legal Education and was awarded the title of "Super Lawyer" by the NJ Lawyers' Magazine. He rendered an "AV" rating, top 1% of lawyers in the US, by Martindale-Hubbell Lawyer's Directory. Norm had been active at St.Leo Roman Catholic Church in Irvington where he was a Trustee, Attorney and Legal Counsel, President of the Holy Name Society, Church Lector, Head Usher and President of the Essex-West Hudson Federation of Holy Name Societies for 20 years. Norman supported St Joseph School for the Blind, Jersey City and the Disabled Veterans Association. He was a proud veteran of the US Navy. Norm was a member of the Trial Attorneys of NJ, American Bar Association, NJ State Bar Association and the Essex-Bergen-Hudson Bar Association.
