Pauline H. Forte November 5, 1920 - November 9, 2017 Pauline (Hanchar) Forte passed away peacefully on November 9, 2017 at the age of 97 in the Orlando, FL area. Her nephew George and his wife were with her. Pauline, affectionately known as Aunt Pauline or "Chuchie", was born November 5, 1920 in Newark, New Jersey to Wasyl and Eva (Katyryniak) Hanchar. She was pre-deceased by two brothers, Mike and Nick Hanchar, one sister, Anna Brach and her niece Carol Reiser. Pauline was also predeceased by her first husband of 15 years, Jim DAlessandro, her second husband of 43 years, Nick Forte, and a stepson, Don Forte, from her second marriage. Upon the death of her father, Pauline left school at a young age to help support the family. After a few other jobs, she started working for NJ Bell as a telephone operator. Pauline ultimately became a supervisor responsible for training many local and long distance operators. She worked for the phone company for over 22 years. Pauline grew up in Newark, NJ. In 1939, she married her first husband Jim and moved to Union, NJ. Once widowed, she relocated to Irvington, NJ. In 1962, Pauline married her second husband Nick and moved to Colts Neck, NJ. Pauline moved to Florida in 2013 to live closer to her nephew George. Pauline maintained a strong grounding in her Ukrainian Catholic faith and heritage. She continued to say her nighttime prayer in Ukrainian, observe the Ukrainian Catholic holidays and would speak Ukrainian with her nephew George. An animal lover of all kinds, Pauline had a special fondness for dogs, with a special spot in heart for Sport, the golden lab she and Nick had in Colts Neck for many years. Pauline was pre-deceased by many beloved sisters-in-law, brothers-in-laws and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She is survived by nephew George (Jeanne Osip) Reiser, nieces Vicky Forte, Phyllis Scarpello, Marie (Don) Cook, Pauline (Sal) Puleo, Gloria Sanchez, Virginia (Miguel) Espasa and numerous cousins and great and great-great nieces and nephews in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and throughout the US. She leaves behind a number of close friends in Colts Neck, the Monmouth County, NJ area as well as new friends in Florida. Aunt Pauline/"Chuchie" will be missed by all.
