Philip Vincent Savia, 85, formerly of Livingston and Toms River, NJ, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011 at Angel River Rehab Center in Evansville, IN. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lucy; sons Alfred(Music Director of the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra) and wife Kathryn of Evansville, IN and Dr, Philip Savia, Jr. (Marie) of Gilford, NH; grandchildren, Laura, Juliana, Charlotte and Milana Savia; brother, Emil Savia of Toms River, NJ and nieces and nephews. Philip served in WW II on the destroyer, USS Beatty. He was an engineer, working for several firms, including the New York City Transit Authority. He served as Little League coach in Livingston, NJ as well as past commander of the American Legion Post 201 and VFW Post 14.
