It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Piyada Bondar, affectionately known as “Yada”. She is remembered as the sweetest mother, a very kind woman, and a talented chef. She passed away surrounded by her children at 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, August 9, 2021, after a month-long battle with COVID-19. Born in Saraburi Province in central Thailand, Yada was the third child of Pakdee and Noi. She grew up with three siblings (Sangnapar, Veerachai, and Apron) whom she adored immensely. Yada was passionately devoted to her family. She was overjoyed when she became a mother to a daughter, Nitayada, in 1986, and a son, Pichai, in 1989. Always thinking of her children and their future, Yada moved the family to the United States in the 1990s. She loved exploring new places with her kids, teaching them life lessons, and watching them grow. Her two children will forever miss her warm smile, kind heart, loving phone calls, and delicious home-cooked meals. Yada was highly creative in the kitchen and much loved for her authentic Thai dishes. She spent most of her life as a chef. In 2013, Yada started a small business by opening Yada Noodle House (formerly Thai Kitchen by Yada) in Bergenfield, New Jersey. She thoroughly enjoyed getting to know everyone who visited her restaurant and had many regular customers. In her spare time, Yada loved to travel. She went on many places, including Paris, England, and Switzerland. Yada is preceded in death by her former husband, Paul Bondar. She will be greatly missed by her mother and siblings, Nitayada Giordano (daughter), Salvatore Giordano (son-in-law), Brandon (grandson) Pichai Gullsri (son) , Alexandra DeMasi (daughter-in-law) , and lifelong friends like Claudio. A service is scheduled for Saturday, August 14, 2021, at the Levandoski-Grillo Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 44 Bay Avenue, Bloomfield, NJ 07003.
