Roger Thomas Richardson

Richardson, Roger Thomas, 85, of Cranford, NJ passed away on July 9, 2012 at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the funeral on Friday, July 13 at 8:15 AM from the Union Funeral Home-Lytwyn & Lytwyn, 1600 Stuyvesant Ave., Union with a funeral mass at 9:30 AM at St. Anne's Church, 325 2nd Ave., Garwood, and the interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, N.Arlington. There will be a visitation at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4, 7-9 PM. Roger was the beloved husband of the Late Helen, the devoted father of Roger (Linda), Steven (Agnes), Kevin (Suzanne), Michael (Martha) and Margaret Richardson, the cherished grandfather of 17 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and the dear brother of Ben "Buddy" Richardson and the late Percy Richardson and Delia Catena. Mr. Richardson was a WWII Navy Veteran serving on a PT Boat in the South Pacific and with the Sea Bees. He was a retired Teamster of American Bakeries. Mr Richardson was a faithful friend and mentor, guiding many others. Born in Philadelphia, PA he was a longtime resident of "Downneck" Newark and Irvington before moving to Cranford, NJ. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to the American Heart Association or the DAV.
