Born in Krakow, Poland of Ukrainian descent, Mr Hrab immigrated to the US in 1949, settling in NYC and Elizabeth, NJ. He is a graduate of Carroll College in Helena MT and Seton Hall University. He began his career in the pharmaceutical industry at Sandoz Pharmaceuticals and retired from Novartis several years ago. His career touched upon research and development in the pharmaceutical industry that includud work with cyclosporine, a transplant acceptance drug. Upon retirement, Mr Hrab continued his scientific work as a consultant in Developmental and Reproductive Toxicology, working primarily on the review of research reports and articles for peer-review publication and FDA approval. Mr Hrab derived great pleasure from international travel with his wife and close friends, time spent with family at his home in Florida, and being outdoors on the ski slopes and tennis courts. He is survived by his loving wife, Aurelia, son Roman and his wife Jennifer, daughter Adrienne and her husband Bret Gunderson, four beautiful grandchildren, his brother, George and his wife Myra and an extensive bereaved family members and friends. After battling an aggressive cancer this year, he died of unexpected surgical complications on Saturday, Nov. 14. He passed peacefully in the presence of his loved ones.
