In Loving Memory of Samuel Greiman

Samuel Robert Greiman, a creative soul with a heart rooted in San Francisco, passed away January 26, 2025 at the age of 74. Born in San Francisco, California, he was adopted into a family at a young age and spent his early years surrounded by the beauty and the city he would always call home. He grew up alongside his sister Carole, with whom he shared a special bond and lifelong memories of their childhood in the city. At 19, he set out on a new chapter, moving to Jersey City, New Jersey, where he worked in real estate, married and raised a family with love, humor and music at its core.

He eventually made his home in New York City, but San Francisco was forever in his heart, a connection he often reflected upon.

Sam was a devoted father to Dana and Jesse, a proud grandfather to his first granddaughter, Elle, and a loving uncle to his nieces in California. He also treasured his relationship with his Uncle Murray, who he adored.

He was a man who always said what was on his mind, a quality that made him both honest and refreshingly unique. Beneath his candidness was a heart of unparalleled generosity and thoughtfulness. He gave freely of himself – whether through his time, his talents or simply his presence – and those who knew him were forever touched by his kindness.

A talented musician and songwriter, he wrote and recorded multiple albums, leaving behind a legacy of music that reflected his depth and passion. He loved playing the guitar and singing, often visiting the Chelsea Guitars store and filling his home with the melodies of his creativity.

Beyond music, Sam embraced a wide range of interests. He had a sharp mind for crossword puzzles, a fascination with documentaries and an admiration for craftsmanship, particularly in clothing, watches, guitars and architecture. He found delight in flea markets, candy, dogs and art. A man of quiet appreciation, he was known for his meticulous cleaning and attention to detail, always finding beauty in the little things.

Above all, he cherished his family, weaving his love into every aspect of his life. His kindness, wit, honesty and creative spirit will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

A Memorial Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, February 2, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Levandoski-Grillo Funeral Home, 44 Bay Ave., Bloomfield, NJ.
