Sebastiano "Sam" Renna

Sebastiano “Sam” Renna, 59 of Belleville, entered into eternal life on August 12, 2022. Born at Columbus Hospital in Newark, on February 2, 1963 to the late Sebastiano “Dickie” Renna & Rosemarie (nee: Carlo), he was raised in Bloomfield, before eventually residing in Belleville for most of his life. Sam enjoyed golfing, fishing, playing his drums and most of all coaching recreational sports and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Sam Renna was an amazing man to not only his family but to our community. He has coached numerous generations of Belleville’s finest athletes and has been a mentor and advocate for Belleville Recreation. He is the beloved husband of Christine (nee: Dzwonkowski), cherished father of 6 children; Sherry Hughes & her husband, Matthew Izzi, Sebastian Renna & his companion, Kristin Bauer, Jody Renna, Christy Renna-Yeye & her husband Hector, Joseph Renna & his wife, Gianna & Ashely Renna-Zega & her husband James. He was the fun-loving Pop Pop to Michael Rockhill, Jr., Olivia, Zoey & Jesse Izzi, Skylar Renna, Justin, Jacob & Jonathan Yeye, Giuliana & Francesca Renna, Harley & Ivy Zega. He is also survived by his siblings, Teresa Marques (Mario), Modestino Renna (Nancy) & Frank Carlo, many nieces, nephews, cousins and his best friend, Thomas Agosta. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Levandoski-Grillo Funeral Home, 44 Bay Avenue, Bloomfield, NJ. (Additional parking on Broughton Avenue). Relatives and Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Wednesday, August 17th gathering at the funeral home at 8:45 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Peter’s Church, Belleville at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ.
