Serhiy Zachoda passed away at home with his wife, Maria, son, Walter, granddaughter, Monya and great grandson, Adam by his side. Serhiy was born in Nikopol, Siberia during troubled times. He helped raise his 5 brothers and sister, who all predeceased him. During World War II he was drafted into the Russian Army, from which he escaped to meet up with the American Army, where he served as a mechanic for the motor pool of General Eisenhower. After the war, Serhiy came to the US, living in Newark, Hillside, Roselle and the last 41 years in Berkeley Heights. He worked hard his whole life to provide for his family and earned the love and respect of all who knew him. He was their "Prince," the Best!
