Silverio Morante

Silverio Morante Valencia, aged 95, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family on June 14, 2024, just six days shy of his 96th birthday. Born on June 20, 1928, in Catacaos, Peru, Silverio led a long, fulfilling life, rich in love, family, and hard work.

Silverio was the beloved husband of Maria Graciela Morante Avila, with whom he shared a remarkable 75 years of marriage. Together, they built a beautiful family and a lifetime of cherished memories. He was the proud father of nine children: Paulina, María, Lily, Lucero, Silvia, Carmen, Rosario, Danilo, and Rita. His legacy extends to his thirteen grandchildren: Paola, Peggie, Jorge Alberto, Justin, Shirley, Pier, Renato, Maria Jesus, Daniel, Erika, Daniela, Desiree, and Natalia, as well as twelve great-grandchildren: Jayden, Eliana, Emalee, Jackson, Jasmine, Jacob, Jordan, Juliette, Olivia Grace, Xavier Ray, Isabel, and Jorge.

Silverio was predeceased by his parents, Felipe Benicio Morante Garcia and Manuela Valencia Barbosa, his siblings, his daughter, Mabu, and his great-gradnson, Jayden. He is survived by his sister, Paulina and his remaining children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

From a young age, Silverio left his hometown to begin working, and it was during this time that he met Maria. They started their life together when he was just 23 years old.

An industrious and skilled industrial mechanic, Silverio traveled extensively for work but always managed to be a present and loving father to his family.

He always had a passion for fixing and building things, constantly engaged in ongoing projects. Known for his sense of humor, Silverio was always making others laugh and bringing joy to those around him.

Silverio's deep love for his homeland of Peru and his favorite soccer team, "Cristal" were just a few of his interests. He enjoyed trips to casinos, buying weekly lottery tickets, and playing scratch-off cards. Family gatherings were always special to him, especially when they involved good food, dancing and games.

A man of intelligence and dedication, Silverio instilled the values of hard work and integrity in his family. He took immense pride in the accomplishments of his grandchildren and was a pillar of love and respect within the family. Silverio's emphasis on respect and unity has left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. His warmth, humor, love, and wisdom will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.

Visitation will be held at Levandoski-Grillo Funeral Home on his birthday, June 20th, from 3-7 pm. The funeral mass will take place at St. Peter's Church in Belleville on Friday, June 21st, at 10 am. Silverio will be forever remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and his memory will live on in the hearts of his loved ones.

Nacido el 20 de junio de 1928 en Catacaos (Piura, Perú), Silverio tuvo una vida larga y plena, llena de amor, vida en familia y arduo trabajo.

Silverio fue el amado esposo de María Graciela Morante Ávila, con quien compartió 75 años de matrimonio. Juntos, construyeron una hermosa familia y una vida llena de recuerdos preciados. Fue el orgulloso padre de nueve hijos: Paulina, Maruja, Lily, Lucero, Silvia, Carmen, Rosario, Danilo y Rita. Su legado se extiende a sus trece nietos: Paola, Peggie, Jorge Alberto, Justin, Shirley, Pier, Renato, María Jesús, Daniel, Erika, Daniela, Desiree y Natalia, así como a doce bisnietos: Jayden, Eliana, Emalee, Jackson, Jasmine, Jacob, Jordan, Juliette, Olivia Grace, Xavier Ray, Isabel y Jorge.

Silverio fue precedido en la muerte por sus padres, Felipe Benicio Morante García y Manuela Valencia Barbosa, sus hermanos, su hija Mabu y su bisnieto Jayden. Le sobreviven su hermana Paulina y sus hijos, nietos y bisnietos restantes.

Desde muy joven, Silverio, dejó su ciudad natal para comenzar a trabajar; fue durante este tiempo que conoció a Graciela y así iniciaron su vida juntos cuando él tenía solo 23 años. Silverio fue un mecánico industrial hábil y trabajador y aún viajando extensamente por trabajo, siempre logró ser un padre presente y amoroso para su familia. Mantuvo una pasión por construir y reparar cosas y estuvo continuamente comprometido con varios proyectos en curso. Además, conocido por su sentido del humor, Silverio siempre hizo reír a los demás y llevó alegría a quienes lo rodeaban.

El profundo amor de Silverio por su tierra natal, Perú, y su equipo de fútbol favorito, "Sporting Cristal", eran solo algunos de sus intereses. Disfrutaba de los viajes a los casinos, comprar boletos de lotería semanalmente y jugar tarjetas de raspa y gana. Las reuniones familiares siempre eran especiales para él, más aún cuando incluían buena comida, baile y juegos.

Silverio, un hombre de inteligencia y dedicación, inculcó los valores de trabajo duro e integridad a su familia. Se enorgullecía inmensamente de los logros de sus nietos y era un pilar de amor y respeto dentro de la familia. El énfasis de Silverio en el respeto y la unidad ha dejado una impresión duradera en todos los que lo conocieron. Su calidez, humor, amor y sabiduría serán profundamente extrañados por todos los que tuvieron el honor de conocerlo.

El servicio se llevará a cabo en Levandoski-Grillo Funeral Home el día de su cumpleaños, jueves 20 de junio, de 3 a 7 pm. La misa fúnebre se llevará a cabo en la Iglesia de San Pedro en Belleville el viernes 21 de junio a las 10 am. Silverio será recordado para siempre como un esposo, padre, abuelo y bisabuelo devoto, y su memoria vivirá en los corazones de sus seres queridos.
