Sophia Michalek

Sophia Michalek, 94 of Bloomfield, entered into eternal rest on November 26th at Mountainside Hospital, Glen Ridge. Born April 16, 1921 in Scranton, PA to the late Joseph Pietrewski & Camilla Walejewski, she lived in Maplewood before moving to Bloomfield in 1960. She was a retired Factory worker for Westinghouse Electric, Bloomfield. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph (2003). She is survived by her children, Robert Michalek & Ann Marie Saporito (Louis) & her grandchildren; Samantha & Laura Saporito. Visitation will be held on Tuesday morning, December 1st from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 60 Byrd Ave., Bloomfield, NJ at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum in East Hanover, NJ.
