Sophia Shebunchak, Md

Dr. Shebunchak was educated and began her medical schooling in Ukraine. She graduated from the Medical School of Friedrich Alexander in Erlangen, Germany in 1948 and came to the US in 1951. Here she completed her internship at St. Francis Hospital in Jersey City and her residency in anaethesiology at Jersey City Medical Center. She continued her career as the house doctor at Clara Maass Hospital in Belleville and finally at the Blood Bank in East Orange. She is survived by her beloved husband, Bohdan Shebunchak, MD and her devoted children, Roman and his wife, Marie and Danusia Rampolla and her husband, Richard. She also leaves her loving grandchildren, Lydia and Daniel Shebunchak and Melanie and Tamara Rychok, cherished great granddaughter, Michaela Battista and dear stepgrandchildren, Paul and Jason McErlean. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Children of Chornobyl Relief Fund, 60C North Jefferson Road, Whippany, NJ 07981 would be appreciated.
